The Genesis Academy Drama Programme is a Light Park: filled with the bright lights of talented, engaged students who are making exciting discoveries about themselves, each other and the world around them. Recently, five of these Drama Students auditioned for and got into The L. Terez School of Dramatic Arts whose founder is L. Terez Davis-Nixon, the creative force behind The Bahamas’ iconic stage personality “Miss Daisy.”

Although Miss Daisy often makes us laugh, these five Genesis Academy actors took their auditions quite seriously – and thankfully so. They all got in, most of them by performing monologues written in class by their peers.

Eliysha Smith said of his experience thus far, “It’s become my happy place!”

Ideally, that’s what our gifts do: open doors to more abundant pastures.

Congratulations Jaya Johnson, Tyler Ndlovu, E. Britney Pratt, Eliysha Smith and Jada Thurston. Continue to Shine!

Jada Thurston (right) won her spot at the L. Terez Davis-Nixon School, with a monologue on mental health penned by classmate Leah Bethel.
